THE LAMPSTAND
To understand these lampstands, one must follow the trail of descriptions. They are first described as part of the furnishings for the Tabernacle in Exodus 25:31-30.
In the Revelation of Jesus Christ:
1) 1:13—the Son of Man walks among them
2) 1:20—the lampstand is the seven churches
3) 2:1—again, Jesus walks among them
4) 4:5—the seven lamps are the seven Spirits
5) 5:6—the seven Spirits are the eyes of YHVH gone out into all the earth
6) 11:4—the lampstands are before the Lord of the earth
The lampstand as described in Exodus 25 represents the gospel message of Jesus Christ and everything we need to know about the relationship between Father, Son, and believers.
• The whole lampstand represents the fullness of the Spirit in the Church [Body of Christ] (Revelation 1:20)
o Renewed relationship with YHVH by his Spirit through Jesus Christ (born again—John 3:1-20)
• The center stem and bowl represents the infinite Spirit of YHVH
• The seven bowls represent the seven Spirits of YHVH (Isaiah 11:1-3)
o The Spirit of YHVH
o The spirit of wisdom (Proverbs 8 and 9)
o The spirit of understanding (Proverbs 8:13-15)
o The spirit of counsel (Proverbs 19:20-21)
o The spirit of strength (Proverbs 10:29)
o The spirit of knowledge (Proverbs 11:9)
o The spirit of the fear of YHVH (Proverbs 14:27-28; 15:33; 16:6; 19:23; 23:17)
• The four bowls represents the four aspects of Christ’s ministry seen, also, in Ezekiel’s Four Living Creatures
(Ezekiel Chapter 1)
