CREATION
What does the Bible have to say about the Most High God? Let's look at the opening verses of Genesis.
The Book of Genesis begins with a description of creation:
Genesis 1: 1-3—Creation of Heaven and Earth
(1) In the beginning Elohim [God] created the heaven and the earth. 2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Breath [Spirit] of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters. 3) And Elohim said, “Let there be light: and there was light.”
The creation graphic depicts the first four days of chapter one on creation. Since one cannot see the breath of Elohim, it is depicted by the dove (of peace) just as it was when Jesus was baptized then anointed according to Isaiah 11:1 when the Spirit rested on him.
The hightlighted phrases in the above verses and shown below have special meaning in regard to knowing God. These phrases are the foundation of understanding the relationship of God and His Holy Spirit throughout the entire Bible; Old Testament (OT) and New Testament (NT). More precisely, they will help us to better understand the relationship of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
ESTABLISHING A PROPER IDENTITY FOR OUR CREATOR
HEBREW WORDS AND PHRASES IN GENESIS 1
Below are three subjects which people have greatly misunderstood. The reasoning of ancient Philosophers trained in the Greek philosophy of many gods has influenced our understanding of Scriptures today. One of the greatest weapons in conquering nations is through religion. Alexander the Great conquered the Hebrew people by helenizing them. That means that Greek religion with many gods was to replace the Hebrew one supreme God. This helenization was carried on through Alexanders four generals who took over his kingdom. Antiochus Epiphanes IV believed himself to be a god and went so far as to desicrate the Hebrew altar by sacrificing a pig on it. He also made the people honor him by celebrating his birthday (December 25) every year. The Roman Empire who followed also helenized the nations mingling it with their own religions, which was often the custom of conquering nations.
In the beginning God
Strong’s H430-- םיהלא -- Hebrew elohim (el-o-heem')
Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus,
especially with the article) of the supreme God;
Hebrew spelling is presented from right to left and the definitions and pronunciation
is presented left to right.

[Context Note: The standard Bible translation and printing of the Hebrew

word Elohim is "God" capitalized to indicate reverence and holiness.

The plurality of the Hebrew word Elohim used in reference to our Creator

would indicate the supremacy of one God over all creation who by name is

called in Hebrew, YHVH (Yahavah) Elohim; one God, whole and complete

in Himself. ]
Upon The Face of the Deep
Strong’s H8415-- םוהתּ םהתּ ּ-- Hebrew (teh-home' teh-home')
An abyss (as a surging mass of water), especially the deep (the main sea or the
subterranean water supply): - deep (place), depth.
Spirit of Elohim (Breath of Elohim) Bible Images of the Holy Spirit
Strong’s H7307-- חוּר -- Hebrew -- (roo'-akh)
From H7306; wind; by resemblance breath, that is, a sensible (or even violent) exhalation; figuratively life, by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being (including its expression and functions):
[Context Note: The standard interpretation and printing of the Hebrew word

"ruach" is spirit and capitalized to indicate reverence and holiness of

YHVH's Spirit.

Elohim spoke and the great wind of His Breath (Spirit) moved upon the

waters to create the heavens and earth and everything in them. Elohim’s

(God’s) Spirit is the person of YHVH (Yahavah) (LORD), our creator and

father of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Yahavah is omnipresent (everywhere),

omnipotent (all powerful), and omniscient (all knowing).

The word trinity was first used by Tertullian in 160 A.D. in his "three

persons in one" essence explanation of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Theophilus of Antioch (117-181) also used the word but his meaning was

applied to what he called the trinity of creation--God, His Word and His

Wisdom (Spirit).]
TOPICS COVERED SO FAR:
- The Hebrew word for God is Elohim. Elohim in a plural form to signify the Supremacy of YHVH; God above all gods.
- The first four commandments lay the foundation of our relationship with YHVH our Elohim.
- Elohim (God) created the heavens and earth by the power of His breath (Spirit).
- Void space before creation was called the deep waters.
- The heavens and earth was created out of the deep waters of void space
- The deep waters were divided into three parts.
- The first part is the dwelling place of YHVH our Elohim commonly called heaven.
- The second part is called the second heaven and contains the sun, moon and stars.
- The third part of the deep came together to form the earth.
GROWING DEEPER
Below is the quoted verse and Strong's Dictionary definition of the Hebrew word translated into an incorrect phrase. This is why doctrines must be tested by the Word to see if they are from YHVH.
Gen 1:26--"And Elohim said, (Let us) make man (in our) image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
In verse 26 the pronoun "us" and "our" was used. However, these pronouns have no place in that verse. The Hebrew word used is asah (aw-saw) meaning to make or fashion. It was probably interpreted as "Let us make man in our image" because of the Trinity doctrine which describes Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three distinct persons (Gods) under one Godhead. I'm no language expert but the resources I use are.
Verse 26 should read:
"And Elohim said, make man (in the) image after My likeness: and let them
have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth
upon the earth."
MAKE -- Strong's H6213--השׂע ‛aśah pronounced aw-saw'
A primitive root; to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application: - accomplish, advance, appoint, apt, be at, become, bear, bestow, bring forth, bruise, be busy, X certainly, have the charge of, commit, deal (with), deck, + displease, do, (ready) dress (-ed), (put in) execute (-ion), exercise, fashion, + feast, [fight-] ing man, + finish, fit, fly, follow, fulfil, furnish, gather, get, go about, govern, grant, great, + hinder, hold ([a feast]), X indeed, + be industrious, + journey, keep, labour, maintain, make, be meet, observe, be occupied, offer, + officer, pare, bring (come) to pass, perform, practise, prepare, procure, provide, put, requite, X sacrifice, serve, set, shew, X sin, spend, X surely, take, X thoroughly, trim, X very, + vex, be [warr-] ior, work (-man), yield, use.
DISCERNING THE SPIRIT OF PREVAILING DOCTRINES
There are doctrines concerning these first few verses of Genesis that were established many centuries ago by some of the great philosophers who professed the name of Jesus in the first century and later. For the most part some of their teachings have been accepted as truth and became traditional doctrines. All of them should have been tested and probably never have to date. The people simply did not have the freedom to question what they were told and Hellenism through Rome was a heavy burden on Christians. Today is quite different. We not only have freedom of thought and speech in most countries, but have the obligation and responsibility as instructed by the Word to test (examine or discern) of what spirit are the teachers and their doctrines. Are they of YHVH or are they false prophets? If they are from YHVH they will gladly subject their teachings to the test of the Word. If they are not they will undoubtebly put up a fight.

1 John 3:23-24—4:1-5 Test the Spirits

(23) And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and be friends to one another, as he

gave us commandment. (24) And he that keeps his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he

abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.......

(1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but discern whether the spirits are of YHVH (Yahavah): because many false prophets are gone

out into the world. (2) Hereby know you the Spirit of YHVH (Yahavah): Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the

flesh is of YHVH (Yahavah): (3) And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of YHVH (Yahavah):

and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. ( 4) You are

of YHVH (Yahavah), little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

(5) They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world hears them.
1 John 3:2 is difficult when you consider all of the cults and churches who appear to confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. Appearances are the key. But we know that Satan is very sly at twisting the truth. Examination (testing the spirit) of their tenets of faith will reveal something that is twisted or changed just enough to appear correct but really is not.
Happy testing............
